FX still bites even if you hold the local currency. Your card is always denominated in your primary currency (GBP for UK, EUR for EEA). If you're travelling in Europe with a GBP card and spend EUR, Krak first converts EUR→GBP with a spread, even though you hold EUR in your account.

The Krak Card is a Mastercard debit card that lets you spend cash and crypto from your Krak Everyday account balance, anywhere Mastercard is accepted – online, in-store, and at ATMs in over 190 countries worldwide.
You must have a verified Krak account with completed KYC (identity verification). Krak Card is currently available to residents of the UK and the EU, with more countries coming soon. See this Krak Card Support Center Article to see if you are eligible for the Krak Card.
Anywhere your Krak Card is accepted, you’ll get up to 1% cashback on the transaction the instant it settles.
There are no transaction fees when you spend with Krak Card across the 400+ currencies available. We don’t even charge exchange rate fees when you shop overseas. Plus, Krak Card comes with no annual fee.
If you’re in the UK, it’s GBP. In the EEA30, it’s EUR. All transactions settle in your card’s primary currency – even if you hold other currencies in your Krak account.
